Faunaro: The 100% Offline Field Guide & Simulator for Wildlife Photographers

October 2026 – Whether freezing in a dawn hide for an elusive kingfisher or tracking rutting deer through autumn mist: modern mirrorless cameras offer world-class subject tracking and autofocus systems. Yet out in the field, photographers face a major bottleneck – deeply nested, confusing camera menus.

Today marks the release of Faunaro (https://faunaro.app), a specialized offline field companion for iOS, Android, and Web designed specifically to eliminate this frustration. Rather than offering generic photographic advice, Faunaro dynamically translates 14 wildlife scenarios into the exact, verified menu labels and click paths for 88 camera bodies across Sony Alpha, Canon EOS R, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, OM System MFT, Panasonic Lumix, and Leica L.

Highlights of Version 1.1:

• 🔬 Depth of Field & Close Focus (DoF): Auto-detects camera sensor format (Full Frame, APS-C, MFT) and computes hyperfocal distance, total depth of field, and near focus limits with wildlife flight distance warnings.
• 📐 Telephoto & Framing Simulator: Interactive 3:2 camera viewfinder with 11 calibrated wildlife species (from kingfisher to red deer) to preview focal lengths (70mm to 1600mm) and compare APS-C crop factors before stalking.
• 🔘 My Custom Keys: Personalized button cheat-sheet for body shortcut buttons (Sony C1–C4, Canon M-Fn, Nikon Fn1/Fn2) with 1-click wildlife chips.
• 🔴 Red-Light Field Mode: Preserves human dark adaptation before sunrise and prevents bright screens from spooking cautious animals.

Strict Privacy & Fair Monetization:
Faunaro functions 100% offline in remote national parks with zero cellular coverage. The app deliberately rejects advertising networks, tracking SDKs, and account requirements. While subscription fatigue plagues mobile software, Faunaro offers a fully featured free core version and a lifetime Pro unlock for a single, fair one-time purchase of $1.99 / 1.99 €.
