Privacy Policy for Faunaro

Last updated: October 2026

Protecting your personal privacy is our fundamental priority. Faunaro has been engineered from the ground up according to the principles of data minimization and offline-first design.

1. Zero Collection of Personal Data

Faunaro does not collect, track, store, or process any personal data. Using the app generates no identifying records.

2. No Tracking & No Third-Party Analytics

Faunaro deliberately includes zero tracking SDKs, advertising frameworks, or third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Meta SDK, etc.). Your usage patterns are never analyzed, monitored, or transmitted to third parties.

3. Local Storage on Your Device

The app exclusively saves your personal preferences (selected camera model, preferred language English/German, and display theme) locally on your device's internal storage (Local Storage). This information never leaves your phone.

4. Data Transmission (Database Updates)

When an internet connection is available, the app periodically checks in the background whether an updated camera and lens database is available on https://faunaro.app. During this technical request, only standard, anonymized server logs (IP address and timestamp) are temporarily handled by the web server to deliver the static database file. No user profiles are created.
